Mari’s Garden is one of the largest aquaponics food growing operations on Oahu and it is smack dab in the middle of the suburbs of Mililani.

Here’s a their story on the journey into food growing:

“Our 18-acre nursery is a premier destination for commercial and residential landscaping.  At Mari’s Gardens, we provide a wide spectrum of plants from succulents to edible fruit trees.  When you journey to this hidden gem in Mililani Town, you will enjoy a large selection of gazebos, planters, fountains, pavers, and stone fixtures among other garden decor.  As you browse, we will personally cater to your needs through direct consultation and assistance.

Though we are primarily a plant nursery, an acre of land is dedicated to commercial aquaponic farming.  Our produce includes Manoa lettuce, Green Oak Leaf, Red Oak Leaf, Green Onions, Japanese cucumbers, Tomatoes, and Beets. Amidst expansion, we are testing other crops as well. Our produce is Certified Organic so no synthetic pesticides or fertilizers are used in the production process.  We are Food Safety Certified.  You can find our produce on the shelves of Whole Foods, ‘Umeke Market, Kokua Market, Down to Earth and at the Kailua Farmers Market every Thursday from 5-7:30.  Taste is the testament of the farm and you can be rest assured that we provide the freshest and most responsibly and sustainably grown produce possible.”

They do farm tours by appointment.
