No cranes and hard hats here, folks. Here at She Grows Food building involves a lot of sunscreen, driving, talking story, brainstorming, proposal writing, video editing, cooking and people organizing.
We’re not a non-profit or a government organization. We think of ourselves as an independent social enterprise that supports and develops projects that have the capacity to contribute to a more resilient local food system here in Hawaii.
We are always grateful when people ask how they can chip in to help us keep doing the work we do. There are two ways to do that right now.
The first way is to support the projects. Following the success with fundraising campaigns for Naked Cow Dairy’s cheese making operation and GreenWheel Food Hub’s EBT project we are currently developing an indiegogo campaign to raise money to purchase an aquaponic system for Jackie Akuna and her Leilehua High School Agricultural Program (link). Becoming a subscriber means you’ll be notified of upcoming project building fun!
The second way is through our t-shirt project. Each shirt purchased keeps us moving forward and growing. We have big plans! Please buy shirts!
